I loved this book!

This one is far more plot based, which works great, since the first book established the characters so well. But at the same time, we follow such a fantastic cast of characters that get so much development! If I had to pick a favourite it would be Khalad and Likh, they must be protected at all cost.

One of my favourite things about the series is the way it makes room for friendships and sibling relationships just as much as romantic relationships! And let me tell you, the romance is perfect for me. It’s not front and center, but rather just simmering in the background, never become the main driving force for the plot.

The way the magic and world building is expanding is also super well done in my opinion, though I did have to look up a map since I kept getting the kingdoms confused!

Finally, I like the story telling and the parallels between past and present. The mysteries of what we are building up to, and unravelling the narrative makes this such an addictive and fast paced read!

Would highly recommend if you are looking for a high fantasy with real tension, a big cast of amazing characters,  fantasy creatures, dark magic, and moral struggles.
