As in the first book of this duology, the world building + magic system is lovely! It’s so easy to feel like you’re right there with the crew. We see more of our side characters, Ferrick and Vataea, which was an improvement from the previous installment. They captured my heart and I love them. 😍 There will be twists and turns that are unexpected. Tears will be shed, smiles will shine bright. It’s a bit of a rollercoaster BUT man is it a wonderful ride. It’s LGBTQ+ friendly AND there’s inclusive pronouns sprinkled in. I cannot recommend this series more. Please check it out! 🧜‍♀️

Pros:
🧜‍♀️ unexpected plot twists
🔪 morally gray characters
🏴‍☠️ phenomenal world building

Cons:
💥 lots of emotional moments (which isn’t a con for me personally but there was a few moments where it could be pretty overwhelming)
💥 this is the end of the series 💔
