On Mysticism by Jorge Luis Borges

4.0

I really enjoyed the poems, and I appreciated this text in the context of the study of mysticism. That being said, this is only ~100 pages and I skipped over much of the portions summarizing the work of other philosophers like Hume and Berkeley. Also, just as an observation, there was more than one story of a mystical experience that was preceded by the death of a woman Borges (or a semi autobiographical character named Borges) purports to love, but seems to not actually be close to, and only relates to or describes in terms of her appearance.
