Burned by Kristin Cast, P.C. Cast
3.0
Before picking this book up at the store I thought to myself, "I'm not going to read any more of those House of Night books." Yet, knowing they rot my brain, I picked up Burned and Awakened. What can I say, the covers are like pretty cupcakes and I couldn't resist. And with Burned I was again treated to teen angst, blooming and imploding interpersonal relationships, new story mythos and a real treat of a story line. While I disagree with the way these teen fledglings and vamps seem to jump into bed with each other, I have to admit the overwhelming theme of honesty has grown on me. Seeing the way Stevie Rae has been eaten alive by her choice to keep secrets was a good reminder to be honest "from the get-go", as she would say. And a trip to the Isle of Skye is worth the cover charge. Once again Cast ladies, you've sucked me into your world, and I kinda liked it.
