I truly admire the skill by which JL explored the complexity of their shared grief; the synopsis initially took me aback but reading the way in which Dom so gently gave Sloane the space to grieve her love so openly…I loved. The intimacy was spot-on; she somehow managed to write a man obsessed without being disrespectful of the past relationship. 10/10
This is her debut novel, and I must say that her prose was uniquely lyrical without becoming chunky. A very hard line to balance but she managed it really quite well. Additionally, I really appreciated the content warnings and care to sensitive topics. I really do look forward to reading more from JL!
