This is a stunning debut from indie author Hayley Whiteley. Rich world building, fun relatable characters, and plot twists that keep you guessing.
I adore this book! Can we take a moment to appreciate the cover? <3 <3 <3
The worldbuilding is complex and revealed slowly like a flower blossoming. I love the magic system, it's so fresh and different!
I feel seen with Brenna as someone who also laughs a little too loud and can't really whisper even when I try. It's rare as an extroverted bookworm.
If you enjoy quests with a ragtag crew, political intrigue, and heroes who do the right thing no matter the odds, you will enjoy this book!
I would recommend this for teens and up. I am really looking forward to to the next book!!!
