So I absolutely loved this book. I switched between physical and ebook, and caught myself up late too many times not wanting to put it down.

I absolutely loved the music references, even if some ppl think they were "too many". The amount just made me smile every time I could relate it to my own music loving life. And I don't think it really distracted from the horror, it honestly connected me more to the characters, which you want in a good horror novel. To actually feel for the characters, so when the horror comes, you feel that too.

I know a few ppl, even my BFF thought that the beginning was a bit slow. But to be honest, I never once felt that. I was just having a blast getting into the book. By the time the "action" started up again, I didn't even notice how much I had already read. So I think this specific criticism is very subjective. (probably also like the references)

I also didn't mind the pacing, lol. (another negative, I keep seeing). I felt like there was a nice mix of terrifying imagery and slow moments where you breathe and just vibe with the story.

I think this was a great debut novel, and you can really see where Scott Leeds has personal knowledge and experience. (I did receive and author letter with my book, as it came in a horror subscription box. Scott worked in a record store)

um.. I really hope he is not out searching for Schrader's Chord... Scott, please tell me this isn't a story based on a true Legend. ;)
