Psychopathology of Everyday Life by Sigmund Freud

2.0

Freud attempts to explain daily occurring instances like misplacing your car keys to forgetting an acquaintance's name to fabrication of non existent incidences by the mind using psychoanalysis . The book is more like a journal of how Freud tackled each of his cases to bring about clarity and respite in some cases to his patients .
I found some medical cases quite intriguing (the right handed veteran who attempted suicide using his left hand subconsciously , the woman who added imaginary lines to her poem to venerate the Greek god Apollo etc) ; but as with most of Freud's analysis one has to perform quite some mental gymnastics to reach to his conclusion , nevertheless I cannot disregard his observatory prowess in these cases considering now we have multitude tools at our disposal to probe a neurotics psyche .
