Southern Bombshell by Jessica Peterson

FINALLY! Milly and Nate’s story is here! If you have been following this series from the beginning, then you know how much we have all been waiting to find out more about their story. We get a brief glimpse into Milly and Nate’s relationship from two years ago. We see the intense chemistry they have, but it also happens to be the night that Nate ended things. Then we jump to the present where Milly is running a successful wedding planning business and Nate is engaged to a girl named Reese and they want to have Milly plan their wedding.

I want to say that if you are bothered by stories involving a man in a relationship with someone else throughout the story then please beware. While there is no cheating, I know this kind of thing isn’t for everyone

Milly is independent, hard working and strong. She puts all her time and energy into her wedding planning business. I was very impressed with how Milly handled planning Nate and Reese’s wedding. As much as it broke her, she even asked questions about their relationship. She pushed her pain aside and promised to give Reese the wedding of her dreams. From the way the story starts with Nate dumping Milly, you would think he would be a classic jerk. He might be a tiny bit grumpy but he is actually very sweet. Nate has a love of whiskey and a passion for books. He has a bad relationship with his father which has influenced some of his life decisions.

There was so much chemistry between Nate and Milly and the tension between them was scorching hot. But Nate was not going to do anything because he loved Reese. The more he was around Milly, the more he felt all those things for her again and it made him start to see the flaws in his relationship with Reese.

In my opinion, when Nate and Milly finally got together, it happened a little too quickly. But I enjoyed how they opened up to each other and aired everything out. There were emotional scenes as well as light and funny scenes. I loved how they fought to be together this time around. Now I am going to be praying every day that Jessica writes a story for Reese!
