The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey

Grandma Lit. Because not one but two grandmothers recommended this to me. Which does not make it bad, my star rating refers to my personal preferences, not necessarily the style of writing. The only other similar book I could compare it to would be Memory Keeper's daughter, which I enjoyed much more. It talks of an older couple moves to Alaska, to avoid people. They are unable to conceive and a fairy tale comes true and they get the title of the book. I was not satisfied with the second half of the book. It seems like the book author is jumping back and forth between fantasy and realistic scenarios, and you kinda just want her to choose one and run with it and own it. Its like a sad compromise to do both. I personally was hoping for more fantasy. I was able to finish it easily, it is engaging, but not very emotional, which I would expect from this genre. The ending was cookie cutter. Would totally recommend for grandmothers.
