I really liked it but it just went so fast, I feel like I need to read it again and again before I can really ~ understand ~ it. The audiobook is really well done too, narrated by the author, highly recommend although the poems might be more easily understood with the book version. It's interesting that the author chose to center the story on the supposed love story when that was really a minor note to the book, which was about her life as a whole. I also don't know how we're meant to feel about this man bc we don't know him long enough to love him or b e invested in her love for him as much as I feel like she was / wanted to convey?
Graphic: Drug use, Infidelity, Rape, Self harm, Suicidal thoughts, Toxic relationship, Forced institutionalization, and Alcohol
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship, Body shaming, Mental illness, Medical content, Medical trauma, and Abortion
