Barn Burning by Haruki Murakami

4.0

Very short, but definitely more intriguing than Norwegian Wood. As my second read from Murakami (Norwegian being the first one) I immediately noticed his writing style and his lack of knowledge and somewhat heavy prejudice towards girls. Why does he always have to write his female characters like that? Men, huh?

Regardless, it was more exciting and I felt more reading this 13-page story rather than the Norwegian one. Not saying that Norwegian isn't interesting. I just found this piece more appealing (for me).

Maybe I cracked Murakami's formula of writing. A disrupt and loner man who doesn't understand a distressed, sad and depressed woman. And an ending that would make you think and ponder things.
