Little Bird by Claudia Ulloa Donoso

3.0

Started out strong but plateaued about halfway. A lot of micro stories which I've had a problem with in the past (even this year!) but these weren't too bad. A few I liked quite a bit, in particular "Little Bird" where a narrator, whose cat was in the habit of maiming/killing birds and leaving them as gifts for her, snuck an injured bird in her pocket into a job interview.

Most of the stories were based in reality or at least grounded in reality and that helped. There were some absurdist stories (shrinking herself to take a vacation in her cat's belly comes to mind). Overall, OK.
