took me a while to get immersed but the fast pacing helped in following the story, despite the time i was taking to read the book.
This book was my introduction to Korean mythology and my first time reading a retelling without knowing the original story beforehand, so to me it felt like i was reading high fantasy and world building, but i think that this book made it easy for readers like me to follow, and even learn the well known tale along the way.
When I picked up this book I was looking for two things: a light to get me out of a reading slump and a romance to get me invested, and I can say that this book checked off both those points, notwithstanding some initial resistances along the way.
Overall though, I am happy with this read as I enjoyed and it checked off some goals for me this year, and got me out of my reading slump.
bonus: there was a character named nari and i was so happy because i was reminded of oh nari.
