The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

4.0

This book is not on a par with Kate Atkinson's Life After Life but I liked it much more than the overrated, in my opinion, All The Light We Cannot See. Sure, it isn't great literature but it tugged at my heartstrings and I found several aspects of it very affecting, not the least of which was the insidious tightening of the noose around Jewish necks as well as the all too eager collaborators among the French. This is underrepresented in fiction an nonfiction.
