3.5

I enjoyed this sequel to the Maze Runner, but not more than the first book itself. This book feels like a bridge between the first book and (hopefully) the resolutions in the third book, in a bit of an unnecessary way. The way that it was written and the events in this book feel like it either should have been fleshed out more with less repetitive situations and narrations, and more details about what the heck is actually going on in the world- or should have been combined with the third book (granted, I have not read the third book yet, but I'm assuming we find out more about all the questions we have there).
The narrative is a bit repetitive, with Thomas having the same thought processes more than once.
I can definitely feel that Thomas is a teenager with the way his feelings change every five minutes about something. I'm not sure if that's on purpose or a result of the writing style, but I enjoyed this book nonetheless.
