Gargantis by Thomas Taylor

4.0

For me, the return trip to Eerie-on-sea was everything I hoped for and more! I didn't want it to end. I am absolutely on edge for more of Herbert Lemon and Violet Parma's adventures in this mystical small town.

Thank you to Pan Macmillan SA Kids for gifting me a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Upon your return trip to Eerie-on-sea make sure you pack for bad weather. You haven't heard? When Gargantis wakes, Eerie quakes!

Follow Herbert and Violet as they try to solve the mystery of the Gargantic light in these seas and storms adventure. Herbie has to face his fears of the ocean in order to restore the light to its rightful owner. But a new mysterious visitor to Eerie makes this task immensely difficult.

Taylor doesn't disappoint in this sensational sequel. Building on the mystical atmosphere in Malamander, Gargantis creates high expectations from page 1. More intense and even more action-packed than the first novel, I was quickly sucked into the world of mystery, legends and monsters.

With new and returning characters, I was quickly entranced by this story and found it compelling and easy to read. I cannot wait to see what other adventures Eerie-on-Sea has in store for us.

With breathtaking and complex world-building, this novel will be a fantastic addition to any shelf. Pack your bags and visit Eerie-on-Sea. Hit all the tourist stops and maybe a new location or two.

This is a great gift for any young reader who loves all things mystical and magical.
