Wild by Cheryl Strayed

4.0

Strayed has a very poetic way of describing things, and for the most part that serves her very well in this memoir. I did not expect to cry during this read, but I did at several points, once getting so upset I had to put it down for a few minutes to regain my balance. But I got tired of reading her inner whining, the constant self-pity mixed with self-aggrandizement. At points it felt earned, but at others I felt like shaking her and saying "WE GET IT. YOUR LIFE SUCKS RIGHT NOW."
