All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot
2.75
It’s not horrible, but nothing spectacular either. Some parts were quite endearing, but most of the book was just fluff.
A lot of talk about intimate details of a country veterinarian’s day to day (blood letting, uterine prolapses, etc.), not in a crass way but frequent. There absolutely no character growth but I not sure I expected that from 24-30 year old country veterinarians. I also had a really hard time with the complete disregard to their personal safety, every story includes some tidbit of them being needlessly careless in a lighthearted, flippant way.
