Gilda Joyce: The Dead Drop by Jennifer Allison

5.0

Spy-tastic installment in the fun & spooky Gilda Joyce series. Author Allison excels in grounding each mystery in a new location. Gilda explores 60s fashion, spyware, and psychic viewing in DC during her summer internship, complete with go-go boots, a beehive and a lipstick gun. The ending's big reveal of a mysterious character's identity is satisfactory fun for Gilda and her fans. Take the audiobooks for a test drive because the narrator is a skilled performer, switching not only ages in vocal ranges but also accents, from Midwestern American pre-teen sleuth to ancient Russian spymaster.
