Cutting Teeth by Chandler Baker

2.0

If you do not have a strong stomach for depictions of blood, the process of drawing blood, and extensive talk about feces this book is not for you. I finished reading "Cutting Teeth" only because I could not stand not knowing the truth behind the murder of the Preschool teacher but other than that most of the story fell flat. The inclusion of the children drinking blood seemed to only be included to create confusion around who was the murderer and I was shocked when there was no explanation for why the children developed Renfield's syndrome. Also the way the majority of the parents so readily started giving their children blood to drink is in my opinion completely insane, I would think most people would take their children to the doctor and try to find a solution other than sending thermos of blood in their four-year-old's lunchbox (EW!). It is no secret that motherhood is a very hard and often thankless job but this novel will effectively kill off any baby fever you may have with the pages and pages of all the negatives of raising children. If anything this book made me even more steadfast in my decision to never have children.
