I quite liked this book. The way it was written - being a story from the past told with little sentences like “if i could go back” or “that’s what i thought then” - made it feel very real. I really liked that way of writing, whereas i usually prefer first person stories. I also related to Frances quite a bit, with her being so self deprecating and all. I kinda hoped that would turn around by the end, but it ended just as she was taking control of her life back, so didn’t quite get to see her happy and self loving ending. 
Some things that happened in the book made me uncomfortable or annoyed, as most of it was supposed to, but even just people’s reactions to things grated me, but that’s just a personal thing i think. 
As for the main plot line, i did like how things were revealed slowly, kinda of like peeling back layers and finding out something new each layer. i find that a lot of murder mystery’s are written that way, and i absolutely love it, though i did already know all of the reveals because i have been following alice oseman for a while before i finally read this. 
all in all i really liked the book and the writing style and can’t wait to read more of alice’s books
