Lost Ones by Nicole French

5.0

I was extremely excited to read this book since I loved book #1 in this series so much. Bad Idea was so good, I absolutely adored it. I am often nervous about sequels though when I loved the first book so much. It causes high expectations and are often not met. SO, while I say I was excited, I was also kind of scared to read this! There was no reason to be though. Nicole French wrote a follow-up that was just as good as the first book.
Right from the start I was absorbed into the book, loving Layla and Nico just as much as before. I loved the characters, the setting, and the little glimpses into the Puerto Rican and Brazilian cultures. I felt like I was there with them in NYC surrounded by the vivid characters that the author was able to create.
I don't want to say too much about the actual storyline and give anything away, but I think anyone who read Bad Idea would know that this book would contain some struggles and emotional stuff. My heart broke right along with the characters during the difficult times. There were a few times I was on the verge of tears feeling all of their emotions. I love a book that makes me emotional!
Lost Ones is an amazing book that lives up to the expectations of Bad Idea. Nicole French did such a great job of continuing Nico and Layla's story.
*I received a free ARC but that in no way influenced my review. My review would have been written the exact same whether I got it free now or purchased it on 3/14 when it's released!*
