2.9 “Persistent yet empty and ignorant flattery” -from Schoolgirl by Osamu Dazai

Vibe of a brooding teenager. The stream of consciousness did a really good job of showing the self-centered thinking of a teen, sad and lonely but you realize that lots of people think and experience what you do, and sharing that will relieve suffering. The musings at the end about trying to endure but the pain is still real now are valid. Overall, a mostly annoying read that maybe would have hit better when I was more like the main character, but overall, would not recommend.
