There Is No Good Card for This: What To Say and Do When Life Is Scary, Awful, and Unfair to People You Love by Kelsey Crowe

4.0

I started reading this a while ago and never finished. I picked it up again when I was floundering trying to help a friend, and read it in a few hours. It was more helpful when there was a specific scenario where I could apply the guidance. I recommend it for anyone who needs a short, digestible tutorial on how to listen, with specific advice on what to say and what not to say.

A few technical notes: the ebook version has a lot of colors and fonts, not all of which translate to black-and-white readers. In some cases, the text was illegible (black on black), and I had to cross-reference the Nook app on my phone. The tables should be reworked for e-readers, but decreasing the font size made all of the content readable.
