Regan Carmichael is a mail order bride from Arizona headed to her new husband when stagecoach bandits try to rob her. She manages to hold them off and then sees a bigger posse coming for them. She hits one, only to find that the posse was there to help and the man she shot was her brand new husband, Dr. Colton Lee.

Regan cracked me up because she actually had so much attitude because Colton was angry at being shot. It wasn't malicious, but still. You shot him, lady! He's allowed to be in his feelings, lol. She almost made me not like her. But, the way she was with his daughter was very loving and I liked that. That aunt was a nasty woman. I liked that she and the doctor had passion, because if anything can ease the way, it's that. Their difficulty in connecting felt real and the strides they made felt real too. It wasn't super romantic in the way I expected, but it felt organic, which was romantic in its own way. I like that Colton explored his experience as a husband more closely once Regan was his wife, and he reflected on who he might have been before. His daughter blooming the way she did was so sweet. But his grandfather needed a colonic.
