I absolutely loved this book but there were some parts that felt somewhat rushed to me. Some plot points felt like they were concluded incredibly quickly and then moved past. Certain character deaths I couldn’t truly mourn because I felt like they happened so suddenly and I wasn’t able to spend enough time with the character to care. I definitely think this would’ve benefited from being a trilogy instead because there’s just so much that’s being fit into one book (and that’s saying something considering it’s a pretty long read).

Overall, though, I loved this book a lot. The characters are great and the world building is fantastic. I wish I was able to spend more time in this world to learn more about it. I love that it took influence from cultures all over the world. The romance in it was also fantastic and that’s saying something because I don’t typically care about romance in books.

Overall a really great read if you like fantasy.
