"Star light. Star bright. You can be anyone you want to be tonight."

Who needs another Cinderella retelling? Me. You. Everyone. I started this book not quite sure what to expect, but hoping for a cute romance if nothing else. And let me tell you, this book exceeded my expectations in every regard. It was everything I didn't know that I needed until I started reading it -- and then I couldn't get enough. Here's just a few reasons why you should give this book a chance:

Lovable and oh so geeky characters. Everyone from Elle and Darien to Sage and Franco are quirky and fun. You'll love to hate the villains and just love everyone else.

Great morals and lessons. In a world that will always try to knock us down, sometimes it's important to be reminded that we can be anyone we want to be. The world does not define who we are or what is acceptable -- we decide that for ourselves.

A complete embrace of geekiness. I wholeheartedly appreciate that these characters embrace their nerdy loves. Elle doesn't try to hide her love of Starfield and she doesn't shy away from admitting that the show took a part in shaping who she has become. The things we love help make us who we are, and this book does an amazing job explaining that.
