The Haunting by Natasha Preston
4.0
Penny is trying to move on after her then boyfriend Nash’s father murdered several kids in her hometown and was arrested. Everyone has shunned Nash and his sister Grace since then including Penny’s friend group. A year later, with Halloween near, Penny discovers a dead body when shopping for a Halloween costume. Nash’s dad couldn’t possibly be responsible, so who could it be? Is there a possible copycat on the loose, and if so who is it?
I wanted a spooky read for Halloween time and this book had me hooked! I enjoyed the plot of the story and had no idea who the killer was. The twist at the end was jaw dropping! The only thing that prevented me from giving it five stars was how abrupt and cliffhanging the ending was! If you like to interpret books that have an unfinished ending then you might not mind it, but I for one was shocked that it had a faux ending because I wanted closure. Lol.
