I had a great time reading this. It's very interesting, no boring parts, and funny.
I was ambivalent about the animal characters, but ended up loving them. I love learning about the land around and customs of that world.

Reminds me a bit of NeonGhostCat's fic "Cultivate: Slow Life on a Monster-Infested Mountain"
