The third star was generous.
I wanted to love this. At least I wanted to like it. But it's the most normative thing I've read in a very long time. Super heteronormative. Judgmental about people who break up with their partner and hurt them in the process. Formulaic. And partially referential to Jane Eyre, which I don't know how to tell you, is not a good book anymore.
