Overall, I enjoyed the book it was much better than I thought it would be! I'm kind of mad that I waited this long to read it! In the beginning, it started out really slow, but it picked up after they met in the movie theater. After a while, I was soooooo engaged with the audio book like yelling at characters and laughing along. I like the main story, the best about Elizabeth, that being a chemist, and dealing with the hardships of being in the 50s more than the
side story about Calvin's family/parent.
Side notes:
I really enjoy reading about 6:30 (the dog)! I imagined him to be a golden retriever. Just happy and helpful to and happy to be there. It was sad how Calvin died though. Mad's teacher was really annoying and she can retire immediately!! It was really creepy how the pastor got involved and was secretly helping Mad find out more about her dad. It was cool how everyone was connected at the photographer the pastor, the staff at the original job. I was yelling at the phone when Elizabeth that was getting fired her being pregnant, and hearing her rational thought process versus her boss's about how women were fired differently based on pregnancy situations.
