This book is weird. Not in a bad way. It just is. It by far has the best characterisation of any of Laski’s books. This goes hand in hand with some excellent and nuanced character development. It feels very similar to character development that happens in Tory Heaven but I really feel that she comes a long way between here and then. This is particularly good as the main bulk of the plot is very lacking. It feels quite boring to read in the moment but is retrospectively very punchy. Clues are laced very well throughout the plot and the themes are all linked together with an ending realisation about women's healthcare. However, this does not help me to enjoy the plot while I’m reading it. It is important to note here that the book is only 100 pages long so I can take it. It’s definitely worth reading for the overarching message alone and gives a really well thought through perspective.
