Emmy is finally coming home after almost 9 years away, and can't help but notice that some things have changed, but others are exactly the same. Like the douchebag that broke her spirit before she left. But also her best friend and her family, too.
As the arbiter of the Gauntlet, Emmy will be overseeing the three combatants - two of whom have a lot more in common with Emmy Harlow than she knew. The three trials challenge them in both magical and non magical ways, and Emmy becomes more involved than she expected.
This was really well laid out, really sweet in the romance department, and really relatable as well. I loved it and can't wait to read more!
