Beast by Pepper Pace

I just loved this story!!!

I identified with both Ashleigh and Chris concerning outward looks. Weight is something I have battled with all of my life, The difference in my family is that I have loving support with no judgment. This story was well written. The author managed to get the reader involved in the process that both Chris and Ashleigh were going through by cheering on their progress. Both characters' struggle with their emotional baggage was heart-wrenching. Being attracted to and loving someone one can be initially about outward appearances but there has to be more than that to make a lasting and loving bond, and that is what this couple did, regardless of the outward appearances. The Beast loved Ash regardless of her weight and eating disorder and she loved him regardless of his bilateral cleft deformity. Because she got to know Chris, she loved the person he was, to Ashleigh he was beautiful inside and out. I just loved the family reunion scene about the Wildcats. That was so funny with much needed comic relief. Special Operative Marine Lt. Christopher Henry Jameson, aka "the Beast" and his Little Trooper, Ashleigh Marie Dalton deserved their hard earned HEA. Both of them sacrificed so much for each other.

This has become one of my favorite books to read over and over again.
