I read this book series in middle school/high school and couldn't remember anything about it. This book was very much written in 2007 - the references are very outdated and honestly some of the references I still wouldn't have gotten back then. And wow some of the language is very reductive, fatphobic, lots of use of the "R" word, etc... which I can somewhat forgive for when it was written. Also, I really hope the authors have some sort of Native American heritage and weren't just using that culture to write a more interesting story. Overall, I enjoyed the story and liked the mystery of it. I enjoyed the rituals and learning about the magical powers vampires have. I think I may have enjoyed the story better if I read it physically instead of the audiobook - I didn't really like the voices the narrator used and the way she said "room" was so weird. If I read the next book I would like to read it physically.
