I was blown away by this book. Let me preface by saying I almost DNF’ed this book twice due to the complex nature of the universe this book describes. However, the more I read, the more all the pieces started to click together. By the end of it, I found the world building to be complicated (yes) but also very well flushed out. Between the characters’ recurring nightmares and flashbacks, you gain a lot more knowledge into the world in which they live, which comprises a myriad of realms and supernatural creatures.

This book is truly an enemies to lovers book and I didn’t find the banter to be too cheesy or detracting from the main plot/focus on the book. Their growth towards friendship and an eventual I would sacrifice everything to keep you romance was well paced, witty, emotional and heart wrenching.

My only complaint is the back and forth and hold and come nature that came at the beginning of their relationship. It was a bit repetitive and there was a lot of apologizing. This book made me tense, it made my heart race, it made me laugh, blush, blink back tears. I love Liam and Dianna so much.

There are so many popular romantasy couples out there but I don’t hear enough about these two. I loved the depth of their vulnerability and how much they complete each other and convince each other that they are not broken, irredeemable beings Not giving any spoilers, please just read it!
