WOWIE just wow. this definitely isn’t my first lisa jewell novel, but definitely is my favorite!!!

19 year old parents, talluah and zach, have been missing for over a year now. except they definitely didn’t run away together because they left their precious newborn baby behind. everyone who they went out with that night is acting shady and pretending they didn’t remember anything that night. insert a young detective novelist who is hell bent on figuring it out, and you’ve got yourself a perfect october thriller read.

my favorite part was the diverging timelines. the story took place between 2 years ago (talluah’s history), 1 year ago (when talluah and zach went missing), and present day (when sophie and shaun move into the area and decide to solve the cold case). I wanted to see more in depth of the minor characters like mimi, lexie, chloe, etc, but I loved the cards the author dealt!

also THAT EPILOGUE holy crap I was on the floor screaming because just when I think a mystery’s going to be left unsaid - nope. I should know better than to underestimate LJ.
