Armageddon in Retrospect: And Other New and Unpublished Writings on War and Peace by Kurt Vonnegut

4.0

This collection of stories from Vonnegut takes an honest look at the topic of war. Shaped by his own experiences, I could sense the agony and conflictedness of Vonnegut in the words of his stories, particularly when he spoke of Dresden and its bombing by the allies. Armageddon in Retrospect boils down the complex feelings of war from many different sides - prisoner, victor, soldier, and subject. The simple stories convey a great deal of complicated emotions that struck me right to the core.
