The Lonely Hearts Hotel by Heather O'Neill

I absolutely LOVED reading this book. It’s beautiful, gritty, heartbreaking, and hopeful. What I loved most is how HUMAN the characters are; they are deeply flawed, complex, and extremely well written. Everyone you meet is imperfect and that is what makes them interesting!
I didn’t know what to expect when I first started reading this, but by chapter 3 I had already fallen in love with Rose and Pierrot and was excited to see the rise and fall of their lives. The first few chapters are a little rough but vital to understanding the thought processes/behaviors of Rose and Pierrot as you follow them into adulthood.
I had a difficult time finishing this book only because I couldn’t stand the idea of saying goodbye to such amazing characters. I’d recommend this book to people that enjoy love stories, tragedies, and problematic characters.
