Holy shit, this book. I didn't know what to expect going into this, but I was absolutely blown away by not only the quality of the story but by how much I loved these characters. They felt so real and my heart ached for them as I read about everything they went through.
I couldn't stop reading this once I picked it up -- my work for school went ignored as I found myself desperate to know if Julian ended up okay and if he and Adam got to be happy (or at least as happy as their scenario allowed them to be).
I will say, before picking this up, please please please make yourself aware of the trigger warnings that accompany this. There are graphic descriptions of abuse, including starvation and whipping. Don't read this if that will harm you. This is a great book, but it shouldn't be read at the expense of your mental health.
