Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon

5.0

Instructions For Dancing by Nicola Yoon is the story of the year when it comes to overcoming the fear of entering love and its ending. The main character, Evie, is a hopeless romantic, and she loves romance novels. However, her parents get a divorce, and she starts feeling that love isn't something that lasts forever.

Entertainment

Normally, I prefer thriller novels over romance ones. This novel, however, kept me engaged, I like the dancing she learns, and I like her dynamic with other characters.

Characters

Many of the characters have the depth to them. I love Evie's interactions with X, her friend group, her mom, dad, sister, and more. Evie has strong bonds with many of the characters, and it feels realistic because that's how close some people in real life become with these types of people.

Plot

For the most part, the plot was written fairly well. One critique I have on it is the dancing I felt like was a missed opportunity. The dancing could have been described in more detail, but it's fairly short in the book.

Writing Style

I did not love the writing style at the beginning, but it ended up growing on me.

Finished Product

There was one tiny editing error, but I'm not going to take a point off for that.

I give Instructions For Dancing by Nicola Yoon 5 out of 5 stars, and I loved it.
