This novel is fascinating and such wonderful proof of how maleable the rules of literature are. The characters are complex, messy, and real- yet, you root for them, because they root so deeply for one another. Zevin's love for and knowledge of games is incredibly obvious. It's not an easy book to get through or to sit with, but it will stay with you forever.
