I jumped into the middle of the series with this book. I will say though, I hate when a series with an ongoing group of characters heavily relies on the events of previous books to move the plot line. It’s so boring to be given mini summaries of a secondary couple’s romance rather than allowing love for them to build anew. Nevertheless, this was a pretty quick read for me - I wanted the FMC to grow out of the cage she’d built herself and championed her along the way. I thought the MMC was a little bit of a dud, and the antagonists a bit too villainy.
