Sweeney Todd & Other Stories by Holly Gaiman, Michael Zulli, Neil Gaiman

4.0

A very odd combination of stories and media, but very entertaining. First we have a brief explanation of the history of Sweeney Todd from its Penny Dreadful origins, with illustrations throughout. Then follows a comic strip about a journalist and his friend on an expedition to find the 'Temple Bar' which signified the entrance to Fleet Street. Then the tone switches and we're greeted with a brief, but harrowing comic strip written by Gaiman against animal testing, finally followed by a very creepy strip based on a story by Neil's daughter Holly. It's a very interesting combination, and a quick read, but it encompassed everything I enjoy about Gaiman's writing and eerie style.
