I really like how this next Big Bad Plot Line is set up, with Bluestar being the cat that Fireheart is afraid of now. Not for the same reasons as before, but it makes it all the more interesting. On top of this, the foreshadowing with Cloudpaw is fantastic. The twist that he’s been using twolegs for food is perfect. You just know its happening, but its not until its revealed where you’re like “oh crap”.When he’s eventually stolen away, you just feel so horrible. That poor kitty didn't decide that whatsoever. Whitethroat’s and Runningwind’s death are literally so heartbreaking and you’ve been expecting it to happen since the thunderpath was originally introduced but you never considered that Erin Hunter would actually go there. They do, and it’s so fucking sad. The lead up to Tigerclaw being revealed is really good, and the fight is very descriptive. I almost had to skip parts because I don’t like to imagine animals being hurt! The “adventure” to get Cloudpaw back from the twolegs was incredible, and the fight that ensues because of it was very well written. I also like how Bluestar is being painted, as if she’s uncapable of running the clan. You can just tell that Fireheart is going to be a leader one day. The fire breaking out was genuinely shocking to me because i assumed that “fire will save the clan” meant fireheart! I wasn’t expecting real fire! The deaths that go along with it are so heartbreaking, and I cried over Yellowfang. I think the twist at the end was very good as well, and you kind of expect it, but you dont’t at the same time. It was perfect.
