Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter

2.0

I decided to read this because I needed a palate cleanser but I was quite disappointed. The FMC was quite annoying and dishonest, not really the "quirky and super relatable" character I think the author was trying to go for.
I don't really have a strong opinion about the MMC, I felt like he was quite... bland, his only personality trait was being hot.
I was able to look past the personality (or lack-thereof) of the characters but what really threw me off was the use of the word "ick" and "side-eye", which made me physically cringe; I also didn't enjoy the pop-culture references but maybe that's on me, I don't enjoy relating these amazing movies/books/shows to a book I didn't really like.
I really enjoyed Better Than The Movies and The Do-Over but I don't really like the way that the author writes these "mature" romances (not quite sure that this is the right term). I gave it 2 stars because it kept me entertained but I, most likely, won’t think about this book again.
