My first of Amy Tan’s books. Generational trauma and grief especially in the lens of mother-daughter relationships is always hard to read and I avoid like the plague but it wasn’t that bad. There were parts where I wanted to give up but a lot of the historical content I really enjoyed.
Graphic: Suicidal thoughts, War, and Dementia
Moderate: Suicide and Suicide attempt
Minor: Pedophilia and Sexual assault
