Literal quote from my note while I was about midway through this book: "This book is SO obviously written by a man. He literally said 'don't kill yourself you're so sexy' and she is a manic pixie dream girl. All the characters are so flat and superficial."

Then, I finished it. I now see the objectively bad writing and character development intentional, and can appreciate the book's style and structure, because it was well structured. I know that there is a TV show which I think could have potential.
