In 1940 we got the movie The Shop Around the Corner
In 1998 we got the movie You've Got Mail
In 2024 we got the book Hate Mail
I am still in awe that a fairly basic storyline, with 2 people exchanging letters, can become this funny and quirky love story. That has its reader (me) stressing about how they will meet and what will happen when the truth gets out.
I enjoyed this book so much. The way we jump between the letters sent and the "real" world is seamless and the flow is really good.
